History
Although more Grandmix editions have been made like the 80's and 90's editions, this marks the 28th annual Grandmix and is broadcasted on Radio 538.

This Grandmix features a very strong track selection in the old format of starting of slow and gradually building up from 90 BPM to a whopping 160.

Video Edition
Peter Kool has again created a superb video dition of the Grandmix 2017, adding all videos in a creative blend of imagery. The video edition was made exclusively for 538 TV.
Why are some 'hits' missing in the Grandmix
Unfortunately some foreign record companies consider the Grandmix as just another compilation license request. Their lack of knowledge of DJ and mix history sometimes leaves them stuck in unnecessary restricting company policies. All Dutch dance related companies are no problem, as most of the people working there got into the dance music business because of the early Grandmixes. Armada, Spinnin' and News are absolutly fabulous in their cooperation for which I, in return, am very greatful.
